Mystic Cooperative Task Force - Committee Member
Barbara Strother has been with the Town of Groton for close to 27 years. In her current capacity as Economic Development Specialist, Barbara is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Town’s Economic Development Program, which includes researching, evaluating and compiling information on Groton’s economic base and location factors, overseeing the town’s marketing program, and assisting with business retention and expansion efforts. In addition to the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Barbara is a member of the Connecticut Economic Development Association (CEDAS) Board, and served as CEDAS President from 2001-2002. She is also a member of the Northeastern Economic Development Association (NEDA). Barbara is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Connecticut College, completed the Paralegal Program at Hartford College for Women, and the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma in 1996. Barbara sings with the Mystic River Chorale, participates in Special Olympics golf and bowling, and is a member of the Groton Multiple Sclerosis Walk Committee.
