Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Office Volunteers
If you are an energetic, outgoing individual who would like to volunteer a few hours a week helping our busy office, or helping at a community event, then the Chamber will be perfect. There are various time slots available throughout the week, and we appreciate any time you can give. Volunteer jobs at the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce will include answering telephones and helping with a variety of office tasks, greeting visitors, helping them with directions, finding accommodations, restaurants, and local attraction choices. It is also a great way to make new friends, meet people and become involved in your community.
The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is calling all volunteers for the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival, the Taste of Mystic, and the Groton Fall Festival. Every year, these events recruit hundreds of volunteers to help with a variety of tasks like: set up, manning information booths, and much more. Volunteer shifts are approximately 2-3 hours.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and enjoy these events from a new perspective. The volunteers really ensure the days run smoothly and create a good time for all.
The Mystic Outdoor Art Festival will be held along the streets of Historic Downtown Mystic on the weekend of August 10th and 11th, 2013. There are over 100 positions to be filled to keep the event running smoothly. All volunteers receive a free official art festival t-shirt and are invited to a special reception in their honor. The volunteers really make this event one of the best in the country. With your help, this festival not only runs smoothly but also creates a good time for all: Artist, Volunteer, and Visitor alike.
Some of the available volunteer shifts are:
Set Up: Arrive by 6 am on Saturday morning and work in a specific area helping artists find their spaces and assisting with set up.
Street Assistants: Make themselves available for rest breaks for the artists and depending on the heat delivering drinks to artists and other volunteers.
A Taste of Mystic will take place on Cottrell Street in Historic Downtown Mystic on Friday September 6th, Saturday, September 7th, and Sunday, September 8th.
