Business of the Month

Congratulations to our Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month - Ella T. Grasso Technical High School!

Every month the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) highlights a member business deserving of special recognition in our community. For the month of October, we are thrilled to announce Ella T. Grasso Technical High School as the recipient of the GMCC’s Business of the Month award. The honor is nomination-based and determined by several factors, including community involvement and overall success.

Located at 189 Fort Hill Road in Groton, Grasso Tech students achieve success through the shared commitment to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment dedicated to the pursuit of educational excellence. All students are encouraged to work to their full potential to become skilled professionals in today’s modern society, but to also becoming contributing citizens on a local level.

Students at Grasso Tech have become integrated into the region, taking on community service projects and working to improve both themselves and our area on a deeper level. Culinary students work with the Groton Senior Center to provide delicious meals, as well as with the Groton Public Schools Dietary Department working cooperatively on its “Health Schools, Healthy Meals” initiatives. Additional outreach programs include the Community Garden with Groton Social Services, growing plants for the hydroponics project at a waste water treatment facility, cleaning Thames Landing Park, computer aided drafting programs, Children First Groton and more.

“The students and faculty at Ella T. Grasso Technical High School are an enormous asset to the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and the Groton Business Association,” says Tricia Walsh, President of the GMCC. “Led by Dean of Students Jack Cervera, these students consistently donate their time and talents to the community in a variety of ways, including the GBA’s Annual Groton Fall Festival. It is an absolute pleasure to recognize and honor the entire Grasso Tech organization, as these students truly are the leaders of tomorrow.”

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor the entire Ella T. Grasso Technical High School team. Congratulations!
